Hebrew interpreters and translator services

Hebrew is known as a Semitic language, and it originated in the territory that is now the country of Israel. The origins of the language date all the way back to the 10th century B.C, which was when an ancient Hebrew variation existed called Paleo-Hebrew. It was only used as a written language at that time. But then it grew into a spoken language throughout the Kingdom of Judah.

If you look at the stories of the Bible, the Babylonian kingdom conquered the Kingdom of Judah in the 2nd century B.C. After that happened, Aramaic became the main language of Judah. The only people who spoke Hebrew were the small number of Jews that took it upon themselves to study the old religious books.

For many centuries, Hebrew was not a widely spoken language in the Jewish community. It wasn’t until the 20th century that Jewish revived the Hebrew language once again. They did so in wake of the country of Israel being formed following the aftermath of World War II.

In 1948, the Jews of Israel started studying Hebrew and teaching Hebrew to their children. It was their way of studying the language of their ancestors and identifying with each other, even if they came from different places originally. However, the modern version of Hebrew has a lot of differences from the ancient form of Hebrew found in the Bible. A lot of the words in modern Hebrew are derived from the more common languages of today, such as English.

In modern times, people of the Jewish religion or heritage are commonly the ones who speak Hebrew. Most of the Hebrew speakers are in Israel, but you’ll also find some of them in other countries around the world as well. There are about nine million people throughout the world who speak Hebrew. That number has almost doubled since the 1990s.

Many Hebrew speakers also speak English as a second language, but Hebrew is still the only official language of Israel.

Alphabet

There are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet. If you’re used to reading from left to right, then you will find Hebrew to be rather difficult because it requires you to read from right to left. Another unusual thing about Hebrew is that you only write out the consonants of a word. When they are read or spoken, you must put in the vowels yourself. That is why it is difficult for people to learn Hebrew as a second language.

Syntax

Syntax is something that always makes a particular language stand out. In English, the common word order of a sentence is subject, verb, and object. But the Hebrew language allows you to have several different word orders for the same sentence. You could have verbs before the subjects and subjects before the verbs, and it’ll still be understandable to people who know the language. There are no indefinite articles used in Hebrew either.

Hebrew gives writers and speakers a lot of flexibility in their words and sentences. For instance, Hebrew sentences do not need to have verbs in them. If there is a noun or subject word that has a verb linked to it, such as “I am here,” then you could write that in Hebrew form by eliminating the “am” and just leaving the subject “I” and the place “here.”
