The difference is that you don’t get to see the interpreter on the call. You’ll only hear their voice give an interpretation after a person speaks. It requires a little more focus and patience, but it can still be just as effective for allowing two people of opposite languages to communicate.  

When you need to communicate with someone who does not own a computer or has no computer access, then a phone interpreter is the best choice. Most people have access to a telephone of some kind, so you shouldn’t have a problem arranging a phone interpretation conversation with them.
